Community Planning Collaborative exists to do good in the world.

People and policies matter and we care deeply about both. We partner with community groups, organizations, and governments to build sustainable and equitable communities.

We know cookie-cutter approaches don’t work.

Every community requires a unique and tailored approach based on local context, constraints, needs, and goals. We are responsive and nimble, listening to what’s needed and shifting gears as needed to remain focused on what’s important and root our work in local realities. In every project we work on, we apply our extensive experience working with diverse communities.

We value the process just as much as the outcome.

We are seasoned facilitators, listeners, and communicators, and we’re experts at navigating complex collaborative processes. Working closely with staff and community members, we make sure planning efforts are effective, inclusive, and community-building. 

We bring proven expertise to every project.

Our team has many decades of combined experience in public, private, and non-profit community work. We have intentionally remained a small firm so we can commit experienced senior-level staff to every project, and we are committed to excellence in everything we deliver. Our work wins awards and client accolades (you can see some below), but we’re most excited when we hear it supports real change toward thriving, equitable communities.
