Salt Lake Clean Energy and Air Roadmap (SL-CLEAR)
SL-CLEAR is the first cross-county climate planning effort in the Wasatch Front, bringing together local governments, regional agencies, experts, and stakeholders from across Salt Lake and Tooele counties to identify shared priorities for reducing air pollution.
Led by Salt Lake City’s Department of Sustainability, the EPA-funded planning effort is focused on reducing climate pollution while advancing important regional priorities related to health, affordability, the environment, and energy.
CPC was tapped to join the SL-CLEAR team and help develop its communications and engagement strategy and support the plan’s development. We facilitated the cross-sector work groups on Buildings, Homes, and Renewable Energy as well as Transportation and Mobility, developed the content and design for the project website (sl-clear.slc.gov), and led development of 14 “SL-CLEAR Blueprints” that lay out key steps for coordinated regional action on key priorities.
CPC also worked with the project’s Environmental Justice Resident Committee to capture and communicate resident perspectives, experiences, and priorities, helping ensure that they are reflected in the overall plan as well as on the project website.
