Abbie is a community planner who excels at connecting the dots between people and policy. Abbie joined Community Planning Collaborative in 2022, where she works with jurisdiction staff and local partners to build accessible and engaging planning tools. From technical assistance for staff to resources for residents, she strives to make complicated systems easy for everyone.
Abbie has worked with the Santa Clara County Planning Collaborative since 2022 supporting program administration and resource design. She has contributed to a diversity of staff tools and training programs, including a Missing Middle Housing Work Group, an Affordable Housing Finance training series, and an Anti-Displacement Strategy Toolkit.
Abbie brings creativity and a community focus to public engagement work, designing outreach tools that meet residents where they are and help make complex planning topics easy to understand. She contributed to the development of ABAG’s award-winning Welcome Home! Housing in Our Community Toolkit, and has supported local public engagement efforts in San José, Mountain View, Newport Beach, and Gilroy, among others.
Abbie has also cultivated deep ADU experience developing both program implementation tools and public education resources for ADU programs in the cities of Upland and Newport Beach, the Counties of Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Nevada, and Monterey, and for the State of Colorado.
Raised in Oakland, Abbie studied Urban Planning and International Relations at San Francisco State University.
